Essay

The author describes on the wide source bases religious policy of the Russian monarchy towards adepts of orthodox sects and its realization in the Ukrainian provinces. The division of the orthodox sects in the Russian legislation and in the historiography is analyzed in work, too. That division was used in the choosing of the official state course towards rational and mystical religious communities. The state policy of preventing the spreading of the orthodox sects in the Ukrainian lands is studied by the author.
