Thesis deals with the relationship between the individual and the social system that aims to implement internal instincts, the potential of the self identity, the realization of its freedom. The author analyzes the historical stages of development and identity formation, individual semantic field of humanitarian and philosophical traditions are outlined, scientific, theoretical concepts of freedom in domestic and foreign philosophy, sociology and psychology are generalized. These findings used to achieve the objectives of the study. The content, basic mechanisms of formation and interaction between individual and social freedom are systematically analyzed. Exploring the various aspects of individual in the development of personality's social freedom was uncovered by own vision of the personality's role in social freedom. Individual, which can be defined as a phenomenon that characterizes the different (social, personal, external, internal, etc.) manifestations of freedom, explains the emergence of its new forms and reveals the mechanisms of its implementation.
