The object of research is authoritarian tendency. The work purpose: to define structural and typological feature of an authoritarian tendency of the person and way of it regulation. The methods: theoretical - analysis of the psychological literature, empirical - testing, experiment and mathematic-statistical. The scientific novelty: the work describes the theoretical foundations, methodical concepts and results of experimental research; the author determines the authoritarian tendency is a tendency, which focuses on motives and values which?? associated beliefs that are highly evaluative power and "domination-submission" modus (substantial component) and aggressiveness and communicative intolerance towards speakers of other value systems, dogmatism as a manifestation of rigidity in regard to their own system of values (dynamic component); the results of “Authoritarian tendency Questionnaire” are given; a positive correlation exists between indicators of conative, affective and cognitive components of authoritarian tendencies and intolerance in communication, symptom rigidity, success motivation, aggression, hostility, anti-democratic, Mac-scale, striving for excellence; the structure of the authoritarian personality contains cognitive, motivational, anti-democratic, affective and conative components; the program, which provides regulation of the authoritarian tendency, has been developed; the experimental research allowed confirming its efficiency. The practical value of the dissertation consists in creation of a technique of diagnostics of an authoritarian tendency of the person, in selection of a complex of methods of research of an authoritarian tendency, and also in creation of the program of realization of system of regulation ways of an authoritarian tendency of the person, which can be applied in practice of a psychological service of high schools.
