Smirnova S. Functional morphology of adrenal glands in case of the polycystic ovary syndrome (experimental research)

This dissertation is devoted to the complete study of the patterns of morphofunctional changes in the rat's adrenal glands in case of the primary polycystic ovary syndrome. The research was carried out on 120 female Wistar rats. We've used macroscopic, histological, morphometrical, microscopic (light microscopy, electron microscopy), biochemical methods and biological model - induced polycystic ovary process with the help of the neonatal androgenisation of animals.This research allowed evaluation of the steps of morphofunctional changes in the adrenal glands alongside with the level of hormones and age of the animals. Stages of the age dynamics of polycystic ovary syndrome in case of the anovulatory infertility and simultaneous character of the changes in the adrenal glands depending on the degree of the polycystic syndrome in ovaries were revealed.
