Tomenyuk O. Yuriy Polians'kyi's Scientific Ideas and Their Influence on the Development of Geomorphology and Palaeogeography in Ukraine.

The thesis is focused on the definition of role and place of Yuriy Polians'kyi's scientific heritage in the context of the spread and development of palaeogeographic and geomorphological ideas in Ukraine. On the base of analysis of archival sources and literature unknown facts and information from Y. Polians'kyi's biography are summarized and involved to the scientific use. Factors of formation of scientific outlook of Professor Y. Polians'kyi as a researcher and personality are revealed. The main directions and results of scientist's geomorphological and palaeogeographic researches are analyzed and principal scientific ideas that were developed by Y. Polians'kyi are formulated. Based on the analysis of publications of modern scientists and author's own field researches influence of Y. Polians'kyi scientific ideas on the development of modern scientific palaeogeographic, geomorphological, archaeological researches of Podillia-Dniester and Forecarpathians regions by present-day researchers is clarified. Relevance of Y. Polians'kyi scientific ideas at the present stage of development of Ukrainian geomorphology and palaeogeography is revealed; role and place of researcher's creative heritage in the context of development of these branches of science in Ukraine are shown.
