Punhina O. The development of art education of the south of Ukraine (the second part of XIX - the beginning XX.).

The object of the research is arts education in Ukraine; the subject of the research is the main tendencies in the development and content of art education in educational institutions in the South of Ukraine (South of the Kherson province) in the second half of XIX - beginning of the twentieth century; the aim of the research is to analyze the process of the development of education in the second half of XIX - beginning of XX century in the South of Ukraine in the context of the General art education in Ukraine, to identify the main tendencies and content, to justify the use of positive ideas, experience in art education and in reforming the art education in modern conditions; the following methods of the research are used: historical-structural, comparative-contrastive, chronological, personalistic-biographical, generalization and systematization; the scientific novelty of the research consists in the fact that for the first time the dynamics of the formation, organization and development of the main directions of art education in the South of Ukraine in the second half of XIX -beginning of XX century was revealed, based on the analyses of the documentary sources and scientific literature and its period were theoretically substantiated; The influence of the cultural and artistic life in the south of Ukraine during the period on the formation of art education and the contribution of the leading artists on the development of art education in Ukraine were defined.
