Britvin V. Creation of source material for the selection of sweet sorghum

The object of study – creation and morphological estimation of feedstock of sweet sorghum for a selection on a heterosis in the conditions of Crimea. Purpose – to create and estimate the new feedstock of sorghum saccharine on the complex of valuable morphological and economic signs.. Methods – field, biometric, chemical, calculation-comparative, mathematical and statistical special plant-breeding. Results: кecommendations of plant-breeding practice are done as the new self-pollinated lines - sources of valuable signs. On results undertaken experimental studies workers collections of sweet sorghum with a different level display of signs are formed. The sources distinguished on all directions are used in the plant-breeding programs of the south branch of the national univesity of life and environmental sciences of Ukraine the "Crimean agrotechnological university". A copyright certificate (№08229) and patent (№08373) are got on the sort of sweet sorghum to Pamyati Shepelya. Novelty – first in the conditions of Crimea the degree of the phenotypical prevailing of important quantitative signs that determine the level of heterosis at the hybrids of first generation of sweet sorghum. The complex estimation of feedstock is conducted for the selection of sweet sorghum. Combination ability is certain on the productivity of green mass 8 self-pollinated lines. The estimation of the self-pollinated lines of sweet sorghum on a reaction on cytoplasmic mail sterility and sources are educed for creation of new sterile analogues. Sector – agriculture.
