Piddubna L. Information Activities as a Means of Forming an Image of Social Reality

The thesis is devoted to complex research of phenomenon of information as a tool of forming an image of social reality and informative picture of the world. The theoretical interpretation of information activities nature are viewed and the basic scientific approaches to the analysis of information activity as well as its nature, place and role in information and communication space of contemporary society are investigated. Fundamental scientific research, humanitarian and technological by character, together with basic scientific concepts about the phenomenon of information research, problems of information activity as a means of forming an image of social reality and its components are processed. Legal and regulatory potential of information activity and its axiological and semantic richness are proved. The thesis reveals the main modes of formation of social reality in the Information Society, represented by global virtualization and simulation of social space processes, language and social memory transformation with the help of modern media, media construction of social reality.
