The thesis presents new data on the structure of the appendix is an integral part of the lymphatic system of the mucous membranes of the digestive tract. Made it clear questions about patterns of individual variability of the cecum and appendix. It has been shown that the loss of the appendix at appendectomy does not lead to significant morphological changes of the cecum and mucosal ileocecal valve. The paper found that with age, ranging from mature, second period (40 years) to the senile (90 years), appendix remains in the active state of its typical structure and its internal lumen obliteration can not be. Histological structure of the mucous membrane of the ileocecal valve does not depend on the age of graduation. Since 40 years, lymph nodules appendix subject to regression, whereas the cecum they persist to old age. Significant morphological features that indicate obvious compensatory changes in the cecum and ileocecal valve in response to the loss of the appendix after appendectomy, has been established.
