Thesis is devoted to research remodeling features of parotid salivary gland parenchyma and its vascular bed in the dynamics of experimental obstructive jaundice. The dynamics of structural and functional changes at the organ, tissue, cellular and ultrastructural levels of the bloodstream, parenchyma and excretory ducts of the parotid salivary gland at different stages of obstructive jaundice were studied, using complex of morphological and morphometric methods. It was found that in early stages of obstructive jaundice a microcirculatory disorders are crucial that contribute to swelling and infiltrative processes and lead to a decrease in functional activity of the secretory cells of the parotid salivary gland. At later periods, atrophic changes occur in acinar units that are combined with fibrous replacement of glandular tissue. It was investigated that remodeling of intra-lobular ducts of the parotid salivary gland is manifested by dynamic increasing of its lumen, decreasing of cross-sectional area of the walls and decreasing of epithelial cells number that cover it. Changes in the structural reorganization of parotid salivary gland’s blood vessel is characterized by a decreased capacity of arteries, their relative elongation, increasing of overall angle branching, increasing of the integral asymmetry in the small arteries of the resistive type, thickening of theirs walls, changing of the spatial parameters of endothelial cells, and decreased capillary density.
