Essay

The thesis analyzes epizootic situation of rabies in Ukraine, experimental substantiation and development of diagnostic test kits for detection of rabies virus RNA in pathological material using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). It is shown that the leading role in maintaining of rabies virus habitat in wild fauna belongs to the fox, and in formation of urban rabies, marked tendency to increase the value of cats due to the lack of mandatory regulation of their immunizations. In recent years, the epicenters of rabies in Ukraine are 7 regions (Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Odesa). On the basis of conserved areas of the rabies gene virus was first designed primer system for its display, the study of their sensitivity and specificity, as well as by comparative assessment of the effectiveness of different diagnostic techniques (PCR, CLIA and biological sample), the results of which indicated objectivity PCR and possibility of its use for in vivo diagnosis of the disease. Experimental reproduction of rabies in white mice, using different methods of infection, found that the infectious process more intensively after intracerebral inoculation of virus.
