Essay

The dissertation investigates the life quality of ukrainian cities with a population over 1 million. The current theoretical and methodological approaches to the definitions of level and quality of life were analyzed, socio-geographic methodology of rating the quality of life of the population of the largest cities is developed; a comparative analysis of the population life quality of the ukrainian cities-millionaires and European cities counterparts, which selection was carried out by the author proposed criterions and principles, is made; the key issues identifed and areas to develop the quality of life by improving of the cities planning and it's functioning on the principles of sustainable development are proposed.
