This thesis is dedicated to the problem of effective CFD models development to simulate the mass transfer in the vertical settlers. A new 2-D CFD and 3-D CFD models to calculate the hydrodynamics and pollutant transfer in the vertical settlers was developed. These models allows to take into account the geometrical form of the settler and its design features. To calculate the velocity field the model of the potential flow is used. To simulate the pollutant transfer in the settler the k -gradient model (2-D and 3-D) is used. The developed CFD models were used to investigate the mass transfer process in the different vertical settlers. The results of the economic effectiveness of the proposed models are presented. The developed models are used in the Engineer Technical Center "Technostream", State Regional Design and Research Institute "Dniprodiprovodgosp" and the educational process at the Department of Hydraulics PSACEA.
