The dissertation deals with the investigation and analysis of the social wardship of the population in the provinces of Right-Bank Ukraine in 1860s - 1914. In this work we distinguished the circle of social care objects in the region, made the classification of subjects of social support, analyzed the legal base of social care and charity, studied organizational principles of charitable society activities, their structure, sources of funds. The main forms, methods, scales of social support of the population are found out from government bodies, establishments of state and public character, charitable societies, is religious public associations.
