Essay

The thesis is devoted to complex research of farming history in Chernihiv province in the send half of the 19th century - beginning of the 20th century. The author has considered peculiarities of natural and climatic conditions of the province; demographic behavior of rural population; studied balance of labour force sources in farming; functions and place of local village community and farmers land community. The works offers analysis of: forms of rural land tenure and land use; lease relationship; workstock and equipment supply; factors determining evolution of rural economy.
