Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the complex research of scientific, pedagogical and public activity of V.V. Dubrovskyi in Ukraine. The basic stages of life, evolution of his outlook and scientific interests are depicted. V. Dubrovskyi's contribution to the establishment of archives, libraries and museums' business, protecting of the monuments of history and culture, local history movement are determined. Promoting of the national historical and cultural heritage is characterized. V. Dubrovskyi's research priopities, his contribution into researching and studying of the history of Ukraine of the second half of the XVII ? XIX centuries, local history and oriental studies are cleared out.
