Radchuk A. The national-cultural activity of Mykhailo Starytskiy (1860 - 1904).

The national-cultural activity of Mykhailo Starytskiy is analyzed on the rich basis of archival materials and modern research methods. The candidate for a degree established the periods of Mykhailo Starytskiy's formation as a creative individuality. The Dissertation reveals M. Starytskiy's participation in the activity of Kyiv old society and researches into the influence of the contemporary cultural-artistic environment on his creative activity. In the context of the Ukrainian national renaissance of the second half of the XIX century, M. Starytskiy's contribution to the development of native literature and dramaturgy is shown, and the innovative arrangements in the theatrical activity during the process of the establishment of the Ukrainian professional theatre are singled out.
