The innovative approaches to educational projects management in the conditions of forming knowledge society are grounded. The algorithm of the innovative approach to distance learning project management in a higher educational establishment is worked out. The innovative approaches to distance learning project management in a higher educational establishment on the basis of the characteristics system of the project-oriented environment of educational projects and mental maps developed on their basis, which are based on cognitive technologies are offered.The methods of calculating the value and index of the interaction progress of the education project community allowing to determine the progress of such projects implementation are developed.
