Surzhyk I. Mythological Foundations of Ukrainian ethnic culture.

In the dissertation author examines the place and role of the mythological outlook as the first historical phenomenon in the cognitive process. Cited definitions of key terms and concepts for research in this area. Had been substanciated the necessity of the dialectical method in the study of mythology, ethnogenesis and culture. As a result of the formation are retrospective Ukrainian ethnicity, nation and nation. The author considers the theory of the origin and formation of the Ukrainian nation works through the main representatives of Ukrainian humanities XIX - XX century. Also set trends and ideas that influenced the development of Ukrainian national self-identity. Particular attention is paid to the research of the mythological consciousness in modern Ukrainian culture.
