shows the variety of forms and methods of ideological and political control over mass media information conducted by the state organs and censorship bodies in the period from 1939 till 1945; studies main activities of censorship in checking libraries and bookselling network, keeping the state secret by press and radio; there are analyzed censorship functions and bans, "cleaning of libraries"; the peculiarities of censorship policy in Ukraine at different stages are studied by introducing into scientific use a number of archive sources (party, censorship, state, public).
