Golovatyuk D. Diagnostics and Treatment of Bone Cysts in Children.

The ways of improvement of methods of diagnostics, prediction and surgical methods of treatment of bone cysts in children are described in this work. It's proven statistically that the distance to the growth zone and the presence of the endplate separating bone marrow channel are the most valid X-ray criteria in osteolysis phase.The following diagnostic criteria that allow to differentiate the osteolysis phase have been set in laboratory evaluation of children with bone cysts: increased activity of collagenase and alkaline phosphatase, elevated phosphorus, glycoseaminiglycans, free hydroxyprolin fraction levels in serum, decreased calcium and protein bound hydroxyprolin fraction concentrations. Decreased collagen and glycosaminoglycans levels are the diagnostic criteria of the osteolysis phase in biopsy material evaluation. The algorithm of diagnostics and treatment selection method of bone cysts allowing obtaining good results in 77,5% of patients, satisfactory results - in 20,5%, unsatisfactory results - in 2,5% is set up.
