Done historiographical analysis of problem, explored the free education as a historical and pedagogical problem. The content of the theoretical foundations of philosophical and pedagogical views of K. Ventsel on the idea of free education. Main conditions of free education theory implementation were defined. Basic aspects of "House of Free Child" activity were characterized.
