The thesis is devoted to the study of the epizootic situation with herpes virus type 1 infection in horses from Ukrainian horse's farms and the development nested PCR to detect DNA of the pathogen of the disease. the first time by the results of the studies was founded, studied and described the specific character of herpetic lesions of the umbilical vessels in mares aborted fetuses. Developed modern scheme of laboratory diagnosis of herpesvirus type 1 infection of horses.
