The dissertation is devoted to investigation of the social-philosophical aspect of problem of punishment and to substantiation of possible strategies to solve it under contemporary conditions. Analysis of current world trends in solving of problem of punishment directs to the conception of restorative justice. The investigation completed deepens social-philosophical substantiation of its acceptability and advisability under today conditions.
