The object is the neo nominations of the Russian language, functioning in the modern mass media; purpose - to learn the basic structural and semantic regularities of the neo nominations formation and to identify their pragmatic information; methods - method of linguistic description, method of analysis and synthesis, method of morphemic and derivational analysis, method of contextual analysis, method of oppositional analysis, method of distributional and component analysis; novelty - implementation of the integrated derivational and pragma functional approach to neoplasms as product of the word creation process: is considered the specificity of the modern mass media, the main tendencies, information and acting sources of media texts, is described the main methods of usual and unusual derivation of new words, is considered the dynamics of productivity of individual derivational types, is highlighted cases of disorders and extention of derivational types, is given the structural and semantic characteristics of neoplasms, is highlighted the activity of so-called keywords of epoch, is revealed the role of usual and occasional methods and techniques to create new words in the derivation game, is considered types of the informative pragmatic information of the neo nominations, influence of pragmatic aspects of communication to processes of derivation and creation of specific of word-building types and models, special attention is paid to the analysis of derivational methods and means carrying value of its pragmatic information; results - the actual material, the main provisions and conclusions of the thesis can be used in the neological and derivational practice, in the creation of " Dictionary of neo nominations in the mass media of XXI century: semantics, pragmatics", in the research work of students and graduate students, in the development of special courses on the process of language development; in the field of linguistics.
