Essay

Thesis is based on the identification and critical analysis of the historiographical and documentary base, as well as the application of new conceptual and methodological approaches that explored the problem of socio- political situation of Ukrainian women in the period of independence. In the proposed thesis for the first time in Ukrainian historiography modernist public space feminine being in Ukraine late XX – early XXI century, it became the subject of special study, which analyzed theoretically complex multifaceted aspects of women, namely the transformation of their legal, social, political and socio-economic status, the question of the optimal combination of motherhood and employment of women in social, family and household sectors. The author has been improved and expanded the conceptual and categorical apparatus and methodological research tools, in particular the use of gender approach to lighting problems of socio-political and socio-economic situation of Ukrainian women at the end of XX – beginning of XXI century. Developed further analysis of the legal framework and public policy to ensure equal rights and opportunities for women and men, the effects of social stereotypes on the public consciousness and the place of women, and her contemporary Ukrainian society, traces the trend of creating a social portrait of Ukrainian women since independence. In particular, the influence of general democratic processes in Ukraine 90 years – the beginning of XXI century, the formation of a social portrait of Ukrainian women since independence: her daily life, family and children, a place in the educational and scientific space community, to determine the influence of social stereotypes on the public consciousness and the place of women and her.
