Object - professional training of prospective teachers; aim - to find out the influence of theoretically substantiated pedagogical conditions on the level of formation of professional identity of prospective teachers in the course of their professional training; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - the dissertation is the first to present theoretical substantiation and experimental testing of pedagogical conditions of prospective teachers' professional identity forming; the definition of the term "prospective teacher's professional identity" as an integral personality quality characterized by striving to belong to the pedagogical profession, acquisition of professional competencies, mastering professional functions and roles, acquiring individual style of professional activity has been specified; the criteria and indices of the levels of prospective teachers' professional identity formation have been determined; the modes of raising efficiency of professional training of students in higher educational establishments have acquired further study; results - the pedagogical conditions of the formation of professional identity of prospective teachers have been experimentally tested and are recommended for implementation in higher pedagogical educational establishments. Theoretical ideas and practical findings of the dissertation will be helpful in pedagogical educational establishments of III-IV levels of accreditation providing important data for renewing the content of lectures and practical seminars on Pedagogy and Foundations of Pedagogical Mastery, for writing course, diploma and Master degree papers, for writing textbooks and teaching manuals; in the system of secondary school teachers' continuous professional development; field - pedagogy.
