The object - the system of education in the information society; the aim - to determine the subject field of open education analysis in the sociocultural contexts of the information society; the methods - systems, axiological, cultural-historical, structural-functional thinking, comparative, logical-experimental and statistical analysis; the novelty - the multivariate analysis of sociocultural contexts of open education as an important principle of implementation of democratic values and social practices in open civil society, as a specific form of organization of education in the information society, as a meaningful component of the global education was realized; the results - can be used in teaching courses of Philosophy of Education, Social Philosophy, Mediaphilosophy, Pedagogics, as a methodological basis of distance education in institutions of secondary, higher and postgraduate education; branch - Philosophy of Education.
