Essay

Object: Politics of Romanovych and their heirs, reflected in the pages of Western-European narrative historical works of XIII-XV centuries. Objective: analyzing of vectors of policy rulers of Galicia-Volhynia Rus’ based on processing of Latin and partly German historical narrative works (annals and chronicles) of XIII-XV centuries. Methods: problem-chronological, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparative-chronological, reconstruction. Results: for the first time comprehensively reviewed and analyzed the Hungarian, Polish and Austrian foreign policy of Galicia-Volhynia princes from medieval narrative works of XIII-XV centuries, introduced into scientific use a number of written Western-European sources, given an grounded evaluation of the its reports, investigated the relationships between the ruling houses of Europe and the Romanovych dynasty and their successors. Scope: further study of the Galicia-Volhynia state and foreign relations in Central and Eastern Europe during the Middle Ages, in the learning process, for writing generalizing works on political, diplomatic and military history of Ukraine XIII- XIV centuries, reference or encyclopedic articles and more.
