The thesis presents theoretical generalization and a new approach to an solving important and urgent task, as reflected in the disclosure of organizational and pedagogical foundations of teaching foreign languages in the context of development of the real direction of national education in the second half of XIX - beginning of XX century. The comparative analysis of curriculum and covers the process of finding efficient methods of teaching foreign languages in real secondary school and real gymnasium in the study period, are characterized provision of teaching foreign languages in real schools with textbooks and manuals. Improved and expanded scientific understanding of reforms and counter-reforms in the direction of the real national education in the second half of XIX - beginning of XX century, the history of these or other regulations governing the activities of real gymnasium and real secondary school as institutions of secondary education. By scientific circulation obscure and previously unknown material, historical facts about the real direction of national education in the second half of XIX - beginning of XX century.
