The dissertation deals with the theoretical and practical foundations of lifelong learning in Canada, based on the integration of theories, concepts, approaches of philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, andragogy, sociology and economics. The genesis of lifelong education in Canada has been tracked and periodization has been substantiated: six periods have been singled out. The role and importance of lifelong learning in modern Canada (social, cultural, economic, political) has been highlighted.
