Pyliavets L. Globalization processes of modernity: cultural dimension

The modern globalization processes and their impact in the transformation in the cultural sphere are analysed in the thesis. It was established that the phenomenon of globalization and culture is researched by the theorists of different disciplines in close relationship. It helped formulate the necessity of studying globalization as the only multi-dimensional process based on scientific heterogeneity, pluralism and interdisciplinary combining different theoretical and methodological approaches. The basic aspects of social and cultural changes concerning the problems of self-determination rights determined spiritual, mental-value, ethnic, national transformations and the necessity of foundations of tolerance creation, respect attitude to other cultures maintaining their own national identity and cultural identity are researched. It is demonstrated that the current stage of globalization can be defined as informational and cultural globalization. So it is the planetary process of the world view formation, needs, dispositions, values expectations, style and lifestyle, motives of the human behaviour and activities, mediated by the erosion of national and cultural boundaries in the emerging information and knowledge societies, the world media and other global communication infrastructures. The main positive and negative effects of this phenomenon are defined and described. The great attention is paid to the culturological researches of the globalization effects within the national culture with an analysis of the national scientists points of views on the globalization and transformation processes, affected on the mental and valuable foundation Ukrainian society as a cultural community. The main factors of the protection of the national isolation: the development of basic identification - language and traditions; preservation of cultural heritage, traditional culture; formation ideational unity; developed system of multicultural education are characterized.
