Essay

The complex study of the origin and functioning of the Bolshevik government in the Volyn province and Eastern Galicia, which occurred in the conditions of Ukrainian national revolution of 1917 - 1921. Highlighted the following issues: background and causes of the Soviet authorities, their structure, functions, personnel, performance, relationships with the military units of the Red Army and the local population. The study suggests that the population of Volyn and Eastern Galicia at first welcomed the socio-economic program of the Bolsheviks. But the practical implementation of the policy of "war communism" Soviet authorities caused the passive or negative trends in the population. The establishment of Soviet power in the Volyn region accompanied by the repeated interruptions in the work of regional and local government and party authorities Bolsheviks. Feature of Eastern Galicia was declarative form an independent Galician Soviet Socialist Republic, which was caused by foreign propaganda and features local conditions.
