Research subject: processes taking place in averaging bunkers in terms of their operation within the systems of conveyor transport in coal mines. Research objective is to upgrade efficiency of underground conveyor transport in coal mines by means of selecting a mode and determining optimum parameters for averaging bunkers which makes it possible to decrease possibility of their overfilling and improve reliability of unloading machinery. Operating parameters of averaging bunkers operation within the systems of conveyor transport in coal mines as well as techniques for their rational choice are subjects of the research. Research technique: methods of continuum mechanics and loose material mechanics are applied to analyze a process of loose goods theory discharging from a bunker. Methods of random processes theory are used to analyze processes of averaging bunkers operation. Systems analysis methods and optimization methods are employed to identify optimum parameters of the bunkers control. Adequacy of mathematical models to real processes is examined involving methods of physical similarity theory and methods of simulation. Pilot research is conducted in a laboratory environment with the use of standard techniques, equipment, and facilities. Processing of results as well as their estimation is performed using PC with the help of mathematical statistics standard procedures. It is specified that regardless of relief opening form and position, discharge coefficient of loose goods from a bunker operating in a system of conveyor transport increases close to parabolic law depending upon increase in ratio between the opening width and loose goods particle size d; when d > 40 it becomes constant value equal to1 and 0.66 for slotted opening and round opening located in a bunker base. It becomes 0.3-0.38 for slotted opening located in a bunker side. It is specified that if a discharge value is more than average ingoing minute goods traffic then average volume of weight in a bunker decreases close to hyperbolic law depending upon increase in discharging volume of a bunker; moreover, it reaches its minimum approximately equal to half-sum of minimum and maximum of the weight protective layer. It stays constant in the context of further increase in the bunker discharge. Practical importance of the results: the technique to control ingoing/discharging of a bunker with bulk material and adaptive technique to control bunkers operating in a mode of weight protective layer support are at the level of invention; "Parameterization Procedure to Control Bunkers Operating in a Mode of Weight Protective Layer Support" has been developed and given to "Luganskgiproshakht", PJSC; "Shakhta Imeni A.F. Zassiadko", PJSC; SHEI "National Mining University", and National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine to be implemented. "Recommendations to Upgrade Efficiency of Underground Conveyor Transport Systems for "Mashchenskaia" mine" have been developed and given to "Luganskoie" Colliery Group ("Luganskugol" SE). Annual economic potential is UAH 0.4 mln. It makes sense to use the research results in specialized higher educational institutions, design offices, institutes for scientific research, and at mining plants.
