Kochubei A. Effects of thymus removal and thymogen on age features of mandible morphogenesis

The dissertation is dedicated to studying of mandible morphogenesis in rats after thymus removal and administration of thymogen. Using modern morphological research methods (osteometry, histomorphometry, biochemi-cal testing, X-ray scatter analysis, biomechanical testing, and mathematics) we obtained new data that testify for changes in growth, structure, chemical contents, ultrastructure and phase contents of dental and bone minerals and strength features under conditions of different cell immunity statuses at dif-ferent stages of postnatal ontogenesis. We also gave first description of changes in ultrastructure of dental and bone minerals that occur after thymus removal and thymogen administration. We have found main lines of compensatory adaptational reactions of mandible in rats of different ages under conditions of different cell immunity statuses at different stages of postnatal ontogenesis.
