Object: teaching activities of teachers of foreign languages; the goal is the theoretical development, scientific evidence and experimental verification of the model of development of professional-methodical competence of teachers of foreign languages in the system of methodical work of secondary school; methods: theoretical, empirical, statistics; novelty: first the theoretical, methodological principles of development of professional-methodical competence of teachers of foreign languages are theoretically developed and scientifically grounded ; the model of development of professional and methodological competence of teachers of foreign languages in the system of methodical work of secondary school are theoretically developed, scientifically grounded and experimentally tested; criteria are defined (motivational, cognitive competence-based; professional activity; reflexive-evaluative), indicators are defined and levels of professional and methodological competence of teachers of foreign languages are characterized (basic, optimal, creative, research); educational conditions of effective development of professional and methodological competence of teachers of foreign languages are improved (development and integration of the scientific and methodological resource of development of professional-methodical competence of teacher of foreign language; creating of the professional environment, which is based on the principles of management teaching systems on the basis of quality and appropriate scientific and methodical, educational and methodical support of professional activity of teachers of foreign languages; the continuity of professional growth, the development of creative potential and improving pedagogical skills of teachers of foreign languages in the process of the methodological work of secondary school; the integration of diagnostic, search, analytical, informational, organizational activity of the teacher of a foreign language aimed at the development of his professional and methodological competence; the use of professional reflection and pedagogical integration as a means to optimize the professional and methodological competence of teacher of foreign language), the essence of the key concepts of the study "professional and methodological competences of teachers of foreign languages"; the further development of the organization of methodical work of secondary schools and the contents, means, forms and methods of professional-pedagogical activity of teachers of foreign languages are received ; results: the fundamental principles of the research can be used for improving the system of methodological work in secondary schools, and also in the process of improvement of qualification and retraining of teachers of foreign languages, self-educational activity of teachers.
