Essay

The dissertation is a theoretical and experimental research of the problem of primary school teachers' research skills in postgraduate pedagogical education. The scientific approaches to the interpretation of such research notion as "primary school teachers' research skills" are considered according to the historical, pedagogical views, retrospectives of conceptual approaches to the development of research skills from antiquity to the present day. The essence and componential structure, criteria, levels and methods of research skills' diagnostics are specified. The peculiarities of the research skills' development in the post-graduate system are described and results of experimental work are analyzed. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the experimental work has confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed pedagogical conditions in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education, primary school teachers showed a high level of motivation for self-improvement.
