Object: physical education of children and youth of Bukovina in the second half of XIX - early XX century. Objective: basing on the analysis of public societies of Bukovina in the second half of XIX - early XX century, to justify the peculiarities of the development of physical education of children and youth and to identify the opportunities to use creative ideas under the modern conditions. Practical value: the conclusions of the thesis are used in the training of future specialists in the field of physical culture and sports in higher schools, the main points of the investigation were used in the study course.
