The object of research: socio-political processes in the South of Ukraine in the second half of 1980's - 1991. The aim of research: to reveal the historical circumstances of the non-governmental organizations in the South Ukraine, to find out the role of their activities in a democratic transition associated with the policy of restructuring and revitalization of the Ukrainian national liberation movement. The subject of research: forms and directions of the activities of informal public organizations in the South of Ukraine, their participation in national state revival of Ukraine in the second half of 1980's - 1991. The methods of research: analyze, synthesis, logical, historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-typological. The results of research and novelty: the socio-political situation in South Ukraine during the reconstruction years is analyzed in this work, and the process of establishing informal public organizations is investigated comprehensively. The regional specificity of functioning of informal groups in southern Ukraine. The basic forms and methods of activities of non-governmental Society are revealed, their achievements in different spheres of social life are summarized, and the role of informal in the processes of Ukrainian national state revival is established.The sphere of usage: the further research of the current subject, writing of the synthesis works, manuals, reading of the high school courses on the history of Ukraine.
