In the thesis on the basis of historical and pedagogical research there have been investigated pedagogical views and educational management practices of the prominent Canadian educator Egerton Ryerson, the founder of the public education system of the province of Ontario. The theoretical and methodolodic background of research of pedagogical views and educational management of Egerton Ryerson (principles, approaches, resource base, methods and research stages) have been justified.
