This work is a theoretical and experimental study of the problem of development and technology of ophthalmic ointment with taurine for use in ophthalmology. Confirmed expediency and efficiency of administration of the antimicrobial preservative - sorbic acid, which provides sufficient shelf-life of the drug. Scientifically justified optimum composition and technology of ophthalmic ointment with taurine on the hydrophilic base for treating of glaucoma and cataracts - the drug «Taugel».
