The dissertation deals with the comprehensive study of location and dynamics of variation of Jewish population of the Right-Bank Ukraine in 1861-1914, especially the impact of legislative, economic, mental and other factors on the significant growth and disproportionate settlement of Jews in the region. The work investigates all the phases of Jewish colonization, shows the content of legislative acts promoting Jewish agriculture, considers the creation of the first colonies, and presents their quantity, the number of colonists and qualitative aspects of Jewish management. The research analyses the role of Jewish population in the land-owning and land tenure on the territory of the region; determines that their participation in these processes allowed Polish and Russian landowners to mobilize their land capital, and it was profitable for Jews to invest in real property for a short period of time.
