Essay

In scientific work author carried out comprehensive description content textbooks on mathematical subjects as a factor of gender identity formation. In addition, we found patterns in gender characteristics of a personality in textbooks on mathematical subjects for grades 1-9 (textbooks reflect the standards of a particular society, including its culture and gender distribution of gender roles; in the sense textbooks on mathematical subjects are well represented gender stereotypes, structurally related both to the level of individual statements and illustrations that are stereotypes, and the level of content that sets the stereotyped representation of women and men in general, textbooks transform ethno-cultural gender stereotypes - male and female sex - carriers of different roles and functions that represent typical family relations, reflecting the traditional patriarchy stereotypes familiar to the time of the society). The author found major factors that contributed to the Ukrainian textbooks (socio-economic, socio-political, cultural, educational, etc.); reasonable prospects for creative use of the content of school textbooks studied period in the formation of gender identity in contemporary sociocultural space. The thesis clarifies the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the research, gives further development: classification, systematization and group analysis of the source base; systematization and characteristics of the problem historiography according to the chronological and problem-topical approaches; gives recommendations concerning the extrapolation of textbooks writing of the studied period into the modern system of education in Ukraine. During the research we have improved the methods of conducting a gender analysis of mathematics textbooks.
