Essay

The thesis deals with the research into the dynamics of the concept TEACHING / LEARNING development in Latin, Ukrainian, and English linguo-cultures. The concept has been looked into from the contrastive perspective. The concept has been defined as a culturally determined mental formation that reflects the phenomena of the reality and that is expressed completely or partially by linguistic means. In the concept structure, the three fundamental components - notional, associative and imaginative, and evaluative - have been singled out. The thesis represents a complex contrastive analysis of semantic and cognitive structure of the TEACHING / LEARNING concept. The concept has been looked into on the material of definitive, na?ve, fictional, and "real" types of discourse with the help of the description of the fundamental components of the subconcepts: SUBJECT OF STUDY, OBJECT OF STUDY, MIND, CLEVER PERSON, FOOLISH PERSON.
