Grushka V. Social geographical features of the formation of geo-ecological situation in a traditional industrial region (Dnipropetrovsk region as an example)

Formation and development of geo-ecological situation in traditional industrial region (Dnapropetrovsk region) is investigated in the dissertation. It is shown that historical features that the economic development and formation of the region industrial potential has lead to degradation of the environmentcausedby pollution from industrial enterprises of the region. Geo-ecological social-economical geo-demographic conditions of Dnapropetrovsk region are described. For the research it was created an information base which includes 106 statistical parameters of urban and regional social geosystems, they characterize mainly the environment condition, some aspects of natural resources usage, demographical processes, population health and mortality etc. Urban and regional social geo-systems were grouped according to the environment state using cluster analysis. Influence of common factpors forming geo-ecological situation was valuated using factor analysis – it was found four factors (indicators)/ Dynamics of system parameters of geo-ecological situation development were investigated, trend of geo-ecological situation development was built and analyzed, dynamic and territorial features of trends of every investigated social geo-system were researched. Social geo-systems were classified according to the features of geo-ecological situation formation. Using component analysis specific geo-ecological problems of urban and regional social geosystems were defined, their possible solutions were substantiated.
