Essay

The scientific research is dedicated to studying and analyzing the potential of gender-oriented education as a factor of the personality formation that allows us to consider gender-oriented education as an important factor of gender stereotypes deconstruction in the educational system and societ, the formation of personality that free to choose the direction of personal and professional development. It is established that the axiological basis of gender oriented education is an understanding of equality and self-worth (not equality, sameness) of both sexes that is conformable to the modern interpretation of gender egalitarianism. Reforming of the Ukrainian educational system on democratic principles, given the current process of European integration, requires the inclusion of a gender component in all levels of the educational system as a factor in the formation of a society of equal opportunities. The main purpose of gender oriented education is the formation of an egalitarian consciousness, gender tolerant subject - subject interaction for the development of society of equal rights and opportunities. Introduction of the gender component in the educational standards of higher school meets the principles of the Bologna process and requirements of modernization, liberalization and democratization of education, improve its quality.
