Sarakun L. Cultural Policy as a Factor of National Identity constitution

Thesis investigates the cultural policy as a factor in the constitution of national identity, development and support the optimal model of cultural policy in modern Ukraine. The meaningful dimensions of cultural policy and the structure of the concepts of "cultural policy", "national identity" are unraveled. The author argues that cultural policy is one of the factors of national identity constitution. The constitution is examined as a continuous process of identity creation, preservation and establishment. The current cultural and educational situation in Ukraine and peculiarities of cultural policy are analyzed. The interaction between state and culture in market conditions are marked. The social and cultural factors of national identity establishment are investigated. The role of cultural policy in the making "post-Soviet" social and cultural space becoming is examined. The author gives ground the integrative model of cultural policy in the context of the development of national identity. This model is based on the interaction between the state, private sector and civil society.
