The object is the mathematical training of future specialists of sea and river transport in high school. The goal is to justify theoretically and to test the experimental procedure of formation of a professional orientation of future specialists of sea and river transport in the process of mathematical training. Methods are theoretical, empirical, statistical. Novelty - the essence of the phenomenon of "professional orientation of future specialists of sea and river transport", its structure, criteria with appropriate indicators were defined; the levels of professional orientation of future specialists of sea and river transport as well as pedagogical conditions of formation of a professional orientation of future specialists of sea and river transport in their mathematical training were characterized. The essence of the concepts of "a specialist of sea and river transport", "mathematical training of specialists of sea and river transport"were specified. Mathematical training of future specialists of sea and river transport was further developed. Results - the techniques of diagnosis and development of vocational focus of future specialists of the sea and river transport were developed. The effectiveness of implementation is high. The branch - teaching, institutions of higher education.
