Vorobiov G. Establishment and development of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Land Forces (1991-2005)

The thesis reveals state of scientific development and describes source base of establishment and development of the Land Forces of Ukraine. The analysis of the military and political conditions of their formation was carried out. The legislative and regulatory framework for the establishment of the Land Forces was revealed. Activity of state and military leadership during the implementation for the establishment legislation of the Land Forces was studied. Stages of development of the Land Forces of Ukraine were defined as well as their characteristics: 1991-1996 - Laying the foundations of the Land Forces; 1997-2000 - Implementation of the state program for the establishment and development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; 2001-2005 - previously created elements of the Land Forces of Ukraine were being improved on the basis of the specified state program for the establishment and development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2005. The shortcomings and weaknesses that negatively affected the establishment and development of the Land Forced of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defined as well as their causes. Practical recommendations for the further development of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the basis of the acquired experiences were justified.
