Object: the manual training in public schools of Ukraine (late XIX – early XX century); objective: systematize and generalize theoretical ideas of development of manual training in public schools of Katerynoslavska guberniya (late XIX – early XX century), educe the prospects of the use of historical and pedagogical experience in conditions of modern secondary school; methods: historical and pedagogical analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison and systematization, historical-structural method, historical and chronological method; novelty: peculiarities of manual training development in different types of public schools in Katerynoslavska guberniya were defined and the prospects of realization of historical and pedagogical experience in modern conditions of general secondary school were outlined; results: author’s teaching materials “The Development of manual training in public schools of Katerynoslavshchina (late XIX – early XX century)” were worked out for students of higher educational establishments of pedagogical profile; branch: General Pedagogy and History of Pedagogy
